The Greater Baltimore Model A Ford
Club (GBMAFC) celebrated the holiday season with our annual Christmas
Party at Synder's Willow Grove which is right off the beltway in
Brooklyn, MD. About 70 club members
joined
together on a pretty nice day for the beginning of December; we
even had a couple of Model A's make their appearance at the Christmas
Party. We
enjoyed the warm conversation of our members during the social hour and
a buffet of prime rib, fried chicken, baked fish, fresh vegetables,
roasted potatoes and an array of desserts. So, sit
on back and enjoy the party!

As everyone waited for the Christmas party to begin, they were
probably discussing the events of 2004 and how much they enjoyed the
tours of the GBMAFC and the inaugural year for the Breakfast
Club. It was wonderful to have Tom Ewers and Betty Fisher back on
their feet and on the mend. Here
are a few pictures; how many people can you identify:

Our own club member, Ray Ray, provided the "entertainment" this
year. Ray - in the photo at left- is a retired Baltimore City
Police Officer and recited a story about meeing "God" on the streets of
Baltimore. He gave Ray and the Judges enough problems that would
turn a day into twenty years. By the way, when Ray started his
story, he mentioned that he would tell us where to buy the best donuts
in Baltimore. Now why would Ray know anything about donuts? |
| We elected our new officers for 2005. As with all clubs, there was a
lot of "competition" for the offices - I think everyone raised their
hand for the Presidency, but the final winners
are shown in the picture below |
|
|
From left to right, the new officers are: |
| |
- Mike Grear - National Representative
- Ken Lohorn - Activities
- Dick Fisher - Treasurer
- Dave Kehne - Secretary
- Jay Philbin - Membership
- Ken Godfrey - Vice President
|
| Missing from the picture was the President, Don Keller and our
Co-National Representative, Rob Penfield |
| Next was the presentation of the Dahlinger Award
which is presented to the member who has had the most, um, "experiences"
with
their A over the previous year. The current Dahlinger Awardee is always
lookout for any "A" misfortunes that may befall our membership.
Current Dahlinger Award holder, Ken and Barb Lohorn (left photo below), were responsible for presenting the award to this years recipient. They
assigned points to each of the mishaps that they personally
witnessed and those that other club members witnessed. Some of
those nominees this year were the following: Jack Abel, Dick Alexander, Jack Burke, Dave Kehne, Mike Noris, Andy Passmore, and Ray Ray. |
And the winner is..... Jack Abel. In the right photo is Ken
congratulating Jack |
 |
If anyone sees any interesting evens, make sure you inform Jack.
I am
sure that he will be interested in all the "happenings" of the GBMAFC
members. |
 |
Our appreciation goes out to Betty Fisher and Pat Passmore for
organizing this year's party. Hope everyone has a happy and
healthy 2005 |
